Iatros Monastery
Tavşan Adası/Adalar

Iatros Monastery (Ἴατρος, Ὕατρος) was located on a small island of Princes’ Islands, Balıkçı Adası (Turkish “Fisherman Island”), historically known as Neandros and Tavşan Adası (Turkish “Rabbit Island). The future Patriarch Ignatius founded a monastery here before his first accession to the throne in 847.
