“Ovid’s Tower”

The so-called “Ovid’s Tower” is located in the Thracian hinterland of Constantinople, around 4km from the Black Sea coast in modern Uskumruköy, Sarıyer. While probably built in the Late Byzantine era, the tower has received little academic attention, thus its dating is controversial. It was heavily restored in the 1990s.
